- What happens if you disappear? Custom platforms worry me.
- Honestly? This is a risk with any bespoke build on any platform – including Shopify. You can't fully de-risk it. But CraftCMS is open-source with a healthy community, and we partner with other CraftCMS agencies. You're not locked into us. And we document everything properly so anyone can pick it up.
- How long does a build take? This sounds like it could drag on forever.
- It doesn't have to. We built Seven Yays – a fairly complex site with a custom purchase mechanism – to MVP in about four weeks. The truth is, because bespoke sites feel personal, clients often want everything perfect before launch. We get it. But our experience says release quickly, then iterate based on real data. Perfect is the enemy of live.
- What about SEO? Will we lose our rankings if we migrate?
- This has to be planned carefully. We've seen sites lose significant organic traffic from botched migrations. Depending on complexity, we may bring in specialists to help. But so far, we've not had problems – because we take it seriously from the start.
- My current site is "good enough." Why change?
- Maybe it is. Today. But will it be in a year? Two years? The code base for modern sites is 10x larger than it was. Mobile, iOS changes, Meta ads, AI – a site last touched two years ago is already behind. It's not just about now, it's about what's coming.
